Description
The Coniston is an 800mm diameter crystal chandelier built in the form of an inverted acorn, with 25 E14 bulb positions arranged across multiple tiers of clear cut crystal droplets suspended from a French gold metal frame. The chandelier weighs 57.3kg and requires secure fixing to a reinforced ceiling rose or joist-mounted bracket capable of supporting the load. The drop is adjustable between 1380mm and 3830mm on installation, making it suitable for double-height entrance halls, staircases and atriums with ceiling heights of 3m or more.
Designed for formal residential interiors, hotel lobbies and function spaces where a centrepiece fitting is needed, the Coniston fills high-volume rooms with refracted light when all 25 bulbs are lit. Each E14 candle bulb (sold separately) accepts up to 20W, giving a combined maximum load of 500W across the chandelier when using halogen or incandescent bulbs, or approximately 125W total when using equivalent-brightness LED candles. The tiered crystal arrangement creates layers of reflection and refraction, amplifying the light output and casting prismatic patterns onto surrounding walls and ceilings.
The French gold finish on the frame and canopy provides a warmer metallic tone than polished brass, with a slightly antiqued appearance that sits comfortably in traditional, classical and transitional interiors. The clear crystals are facet-cut to maximise light refraction, with each droplet individually wired onto the metal armature. The chandelier arrives partially assembled and requires on-site assembly of the crystal tiers before hanging. Installation should be carried out by a qualified electrician familiar with heavy ceiling fittings and ceiling joist identification.

Frequently Asked
What bulbs does the Coniston take?
The chandelier takes 25 E14 candle bulbs, each rated up to 20W. Bulbs are sold separately. Most installations use warm-white LED candles between 4-6W and 2700K for a traditional candle-flame appearance without the heat output of halogen or incandescent equivalents.
What ceiling height is required?
The minimum drop of 1380mm plus the 800mm diameter body means the chandelier needs at least 3m ceiling height to avoid the bottom tier sitting too low. The adjustable drop up to 3830mm allows the chandelier to be scaled for double-height hallways, atriums and staircases with ceiling heights of 4.5m or more.
How is the 57.3kg weight supported?
The chandelier must be fixed to a reinforced ceiling rose anchored directly into a joist or to a joist-mounted spreader plate. Standard plasterboard fixings are not sufficient. Installation should be carried out by a qualified electrician familiar with heavy ceiling fittings and ceiling joist identification.
Is the Coniston dimmable?
Dimmer compatibility depends on the bulbs used. LED candle bulbs must be rated as dimmable and paired with a compatible trailing-edge dimmer module. Halogen and incandescent E14 candles are inherently dimmable with standard dimmers, but generate significant heat at full brightness.
