The Coniston is a 600mm crystal semi-flush ceiling light built on a polished chrome ring frame that supports fifteen rows of faceted clear crystals arranged in concentric layers. Six E14 bulbs sit inside the crystal layers (sold separately), casting light through the faceted glass to produce refracted illumination across ceilings and walls. The 310mm drop from ceiling to base gives the fitting presence without requiring high ceiling clearance.

Designed for dining rooms, living rooms and entrance halls with ceiling heights of 2.4m or above, the Coniston works where a full chandelier would hang too low but a flush fitting would lack impact. The semi-flush mount sits 310mm below the ceiling rose, positioning the crystal layers within view while keeping headroom clear. The polished chrome frame reflects both ambient daylight and evening light from the bulbs, amplifying the sparkle from the crystal facets.

The fifteen crystal rows are wired onto the chrome ring in overlapping tiers, creating a layered curtain effect when viewed from below. Each crystal is individually faceted to catch and scatter light, so the appearance changes depending on viewing angle and time of day. The 600mm diameter suits rooms between 15-25m², providing visual impact proportional to the ceiling area without dominating smaller spaces. What bulbs does the Coniston take?

The fitting takes six E14 small Edison screw bulbs, each rated up to 20W. Bulbs are sold separately. For maximum sparkle from the crystals, warm white LED candle bulbs at 2700K-3000K are recommended. Dimmable bulbs are required if using a dimmer switch.

What ceiling height is needed?

The 310mm drop from ceiling to base works in rooms with ceiling heights of 2.4m or above. In lower-ceiling spaces the crystals may feel visually heavy, while in rooms with 3m+ ceilings the semi-flush mount keeps the fitting visible without it appearing lost.

Is the fitting dimmable?

Yes, provided you fit dimmable E14 bulbs and use a compatible dimmer switch. The fixture itself supports dimming but the bulbs and switch must also be dimmer-compatible.

How is the 14kg weight supported?

The fitting must be mounted to a ceiling joist or a reinforced ceiling rose capable of supporting at least 20kg. Standard plasterboard-only fixings are not sufficient. If your ceiling rose is not reinforced, consult a qualified electrician before installation.
