Colorado Crystal Cluster Pendant Light - Polished Chrome

The Colorado is a 250mm crystal cluster pendant light with a polished chrome ceiling canopy, a single GU10 downlight fitting recessed into the top plate, and approximately 40 faceted crystal balls suspended on thin wire rods that hang 930mm from ceiling to the lowest point of the cluster. Each crystal ball is held on its own wire, creating a cloud-like mass of glass at the base of the drop.

Designed for entrance halls, stairwells and double-height spaces where the full 930mm drop can be appreciated, the Colorado works best in rooms with ceiling heights above 2.7m. The single GU10 bulb (sold separately) sits inside the chrome canopy and casts light downward through the crystal mass, causing each faceted ball to refract and scatter the beam into the surrounding space. The effect is strongest with a warm-white LED GU10 of 4-6W and 2700K-3000K colour temperature.

The polished chrome canopy reflects light back into the room and gives a crisp metallic edge to the top of the fitting. The crystal balls are cut glass rather than acrylic or resin, so they carry weight (2.3kg total) and produce sharper light refraction than plastic alternatives. Multiple Colorado pendants can be grouped at staggered heights to create a larger installation over a dining table or in a hallway, though each pendant requires its own ceiling rose and electrical connection.

Is the Colorado dimmable?

Yes, provided you fit a dimmable GU10 bulb and pair it with a compatible GU10-rated dimmer switch. The pendant itself has no electronic components that would prevent dimming.

What bulb is recommended?

A warm-white LED GU10 between 4-6W and 2700K-3000K colour temperature works best. Avoid cool-white or daylight bulbs as they produce harsh reflections through the crystal. The maximum rating is 50W but most users find a 5W LED provides sufficient light through the refractive mass.

What ceiling height is needed?

The 930mm drop suits rooms with ceiling heights above 2.7m. In entrance halls and stairwells with higher ceilings the pendant can hang without obstruction, but in standard 2.4m ceiling height rooms the lowest crystal balls would sit around 1.5m from the floor, which may feel low in circulation spaces.

How is the crystal cleaned?

Each crystal ball is individually suspended on a wire rod, so they can be wiped with a dry microfibre cloth while hanging. For a deeper clean, the crystals can be removed from the wires (they clip or slide off depending on the fixing method) and washed in warm soapy water, then dried and replaced.
