Colorado 8 Light Crystal Sphere Cluster Pendant - Polished Chrome

The Colorado is a 600mm diameter crystal sphere pendant built from faceted crystal droplets suspended on individual wires from a polished chrome ceiling canopy. Eight GU10 fittings sit within the chrome canopy, each directing light downward through the crystal sphere, where the faceted surfaces refract and scatter the light into prismatic patterns across walls and ceilings.

Designed for double-height entrance halls, stairwells and larger living rooms with ceiling heights of 3m or above, the Colorado pairs the reflective impact of a crystal chandelier with the clean geometry of a spherical cluster. The 1m total drop (canopy to base of sphere) can be adjusted during installation by shortening the suspension wires where ceiling height permits. The 9kg combined weight requires a ceiling joist or suitable reinforced fixing point.

Each crystal droplet is precision-cut to catch and fragment light differently depending on viewing angle, so the appearance of the sphere changes as you move around the room. The polished chrome canopy and wire suspension system give a contemporary contrast to the traditional cut-crystal material. The fitting accepts any standard GU10 bulb up to 50W per socket (bulbs sold separately), allowing flexibility to choose LED, halogen or warm-white depending on the desired light temperature and energy consumption.

Is the Colorado dimmable?

Yes, if you fit dimmable GU10 bulbs and pair them with a compatible dimmer switch. The fitting itself supports dimming, but the bulbs must be rated for dimmer use.

What ceiling height is needed?

The 1m total drop works best in rooms with ceiling heights of 3m or above. In double-height entrance halls or above staircases the pendant can be set to hang with the base of the sphere 2m or more above floor level, keeping the crystal clear of head height.

What GU10 bulbs are recommended?

Most users fit warm-white LED GU10 bulbs between 4-6W and 2700K-3000K. Eight bulbs at 6W each give approximately 400-480 lumens per bulb, producing enough light for ambient illumination in a large room while keeping energy consumption below 50W total.

How is the crystal cleaned?

Switch off the mains and allow bulbs to cool. Wipe each crystal droplet with a dry, soft microfibre cloth. For stubborn marks, a barely-damp cloth with distilled water is acceptable, but avoid soaking the crystals or using household sprays which can leave residue on the faceted surfaces.
