Multiple strands of faceted crystal spheres cascade in a helical formation from the ceiling plate, each strand anchored at different heights to create a three-dimensional spiral effect. Six GU10 downlights sit recessed into the canopy, directing light downward through the crystal to multiply refraction and throw prismatic patterns onto surrounding walls.

Designed for stairwells, double-height entrance halls and open-plan living spaces with ceiling heights of 3.5m or higher, the Colorado needs vertical clearance to show the full spiral geometry. The 2000mm drop positions the lowest crystal spheres approximately 1.8-2m above floor level in a typical 4m-height installation, keeping them above head height while filling the vertical void. The polished chrome canopy reflects ceiling light back upward, balancing the downward throw from the GU10 fittings.

Each crystal sphere is precision-cut with facets that catch and split light from multiple angles, so the pendant appears to shimmer when viewed in motion or from different positions in the room. The strands are steel-cabled and the crystal is K9 optical glass rather than acrylic, giving genuine glass weight and refraction. At 12kg the fitting requires secure ceiling fixing into a joist or reinforced ceiling rose — the weight is distributed across the 500mm canopy plate to spread the load.

What ceiling height is needed for the Colorado?

The 2000mm drop requires a minimum ceiling height of approximately 3.5m to avoid the lowest crystals hanging below head height. In a 4m-height stairwell or entrance hall the pendant fills the vertical space without obstruction. Shortening the drop is not possible without altering the spiral geometry.

What bulbs does it take and are they included?

The Colorado takes six GU10 bulbs up to 50W each, sold separately. Most users pair it with 5-7W GU10 LED bulbs in warm white (2700K-3000K) to balance brightness with the crystal refraction. Dimmable GU10 LEDs allow the light level to be controlled if paired with a compatible dimmer switch.

Is the crystal real glass or acrylic?

The crystal spheres are K9 optical glass, not acrylic. This gives genuine glass weight, clarity and refraction that multiplies light more effectively than plastic alternatives. The glass contributes to the 12kg total weight of the fitting.

How is the 12kg weight supported during installation?

The 500mm canopy distributes the 12kg load across a wide ceiling area, but the fitting must be screwed into a ceiling joist or a reinforced ceiling rose rated for the weight. Standard plasterboard fixings are not sufficient — the installer should locate solid timber or use a spreader plate to transfer the load safely.
