Colorado 4 Light Sphere Crystal Cluster Pendant Light - Polished Chrome

The Colorado is a 400mm diameter sphere-form crystal cluster pendant from Diyas Lighting, built around four GU10 downlight fittings recessed into a 400mm polished chrome ceiling plate. Approximately 70 clear cut crystal balls hang on individual wire suspensions from the plate, forming a spherical cluster that tapers at the base. The 800mm total drop suits ceiling heights from 2.4m upwards.

Designed for stairwells, entrance halls, dining areas and living rooms where a decorative centrepiece is needed without overwhelming the space, the Colorado works well in rooms with contemporary, transitional or Hollywood Regency interiors. The four GU10 fittings point downward through the centre of the crystal sphere, directing light through the cluster and onto surfaces below while the individual crystals refract and scatter the beam into prismatic patterns across walls and ceilings.

Each crystal ball is precision-cut with faceted surfaces that catch and multiply light depending on the angle of view and the colour temperature of the GU10 bulbs used. The polished chrome plate reflects ambient light from the room back down through the crystals, increasing the overall brightness. At 7.5kg installed weight, the pendant requires a solid ceiling joist or beam fixing rather than a standard plasterboard anchor. The wire suspensions allow slight movement when air circulates, creating gentle shifts in light reflection.

What bulbs does the Colorado take?

The pendant takes four GU10 bulbs up to 50W each, sold separately. Most users fit 5-7W LED GU10s in warm white (2700K-3000K) to highlight the crystal without excessive glare. The four fittings are recessed into the chrome plate and point downward through the centre of the sphere.

Is it dimmable?

Yes, if you fit dimmable GU10 bulbs and pair the circuit with a compatible LED dimmer. The fixture itself supports dimming but the bulbs and dimmer must be matched for smooth performance.

What ceiling height is needed?

The 800mm drop suits ceiling heights of 2.4m or above. In entrance halls or above dining tables, the pendant typically hangs with the base of the crystal sphere 1.8-2.1m above floor level or 700-800mm above a table surface.

How is the 7.5kg weight supported?

The pendant requires a solid ceiling joist or beam fixing. Standard plasterboard anchors are not sufficient. If the ceiling rose position does not align with a joist, a spreader plate or ceiling strengthening may be needed during installation.
