Description
The Collier is a 420mm semi-flush ceiling light with a frosted white glass bowl diffuser suspended from a black oxide ceiling mount by three angled steel rods. The fitting sits 236mm below the ceiling, making it suitable for rooms with ceiling heights of 2.3m or above where a full-drop pendant would hang too low. Each of the three E14 bulbs (sold separately) sits inside the frosted bowl, which diffuses the light evenly across the room without glare.
Designed for hallways, bedrooms, home offices and kitchens with lower ceilings, the Collier provides ambient overhead light in spaces where recessed downlights are impractical and full pendants would intrude into the room. The three-point suspension keeps the glass bowl stable and the angled rods add visual interest to an otherwise simple circular form. The frosted glass hides bulb filaments and prevents harsh spots of light on the ceiling above.
The black oxide finish is a near-matt dark grey-black with subtle surface variation, closer to graphite than pure black. It pairs comfortably with dark-toned interiors, exposed brickwork, concrete and raw timber, and acts as a neutral anchor in rooms with warmer brass or copper accents elsewhere. The cast metal knobs and hinges at each rod junction are functional rather than decorative — they allow the rods to articulate during installation and give the fitting a mechanical, mid-century character without tipping into industrial styling.

Frequently Asked
What bulbs does the Collier take?
The fitting takes three E14 (small Edison screw) bulbs up to 40W each. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with warm-white LED candle bulbs between 4-6W and 2700K for ambient bedroom or hallway lighting.
What ceiling height is needed?
The Collier sits 236mm below the ceiling once fitted. It works in rooms with ceiling heights of 2.3m or above, where a full-drop pendant would hang too low into the room. For ceilings below 2.3m, flush-mount fittings are typically more suitable.
Is the frosted glass removable for cleaning?
Yes. The frosted glass bowl detaches from the three support rods for cleaning or bulb replacement. The rods remain fixed to the ceiling mount during cleaning.
Is the Collier dimmable?
Dimmer compatibility depends on the bulbs installed. If you fit dimmable LED E14 bulbs and pair them with a compatible LED dimmer switch, the fitting will dim. The fitting itself has no built-in dimming control.
