Description
The Hinkley Collier is a single-arm wall light with a heritage brass backplate and arm supporting a cylindrical seeded glass shade. The shade houses one E27 bulb (sold separately) behind textured glass that disperses light while revealing the filament bulb inside. The brass finish shows a warm antiqued patina rather than a polished shine, giving the fitting a settled, aged appearance.
Designed for hallways, bedrooms, living rooms and dining rooms where decorative wall lighting is needed, the Collier provides both ambient and accent light depending on the bulb choice. The 148mm projection from the wall keeps the shade clear of picture rails and dado lines, while the 262mm height suits standard UK wall mounting positions of 1500-1800mm above floor level. The seeded glass softens the light output without blocking it entirely, making the fitting comfortable for eye-level wall positions where clear glass would cause glare.
The heritage brass construction includes a stepped circular backplate, a horizontal arm, and a socket holder that positions the bulb centrally within the glass cylinder. The seeded glass texture is created by air bubbles and imperfections distributed through the glass during forming, so each shade shows slightly different bubble density. The brass components are solid metal rather than plated, so the antiqued finish extends through the material and will not chip or flake with minor scuffing.

Frequently Asked
What bulb does the Collier take?
The fitting takes one standard E27 Edison screw bulb up to 60W. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with a vintage-style filament LED bulb between 4-8W and 2200K-2700K to match the heritage brass finish and allow the bulb to be seen through the seeded glass.
Is the Collier dimmable?
Dimmer compatibility depends on the bulb you fit. Use a dimmable LED or halogen bulb with a compatible trailing-edge or leading-edge dimmer switch. The fitting itself does not restrict dimming.
What does 'heritage brass' mean as a finish?
Heritage brass is an antiqued brass finish with a warm, aged patina rather than a bright polished shine. The finish sits between polished brass and antique brass, showing some tonal variation across the metal surface to suggest natural ageing.
Can it be fitted in a bathroom?
The Collier does not carry an IP rating and is designed for dry indoor use only. It is not suitable for bathrooms unless installed outside the designated zones (typically 3m+ horizontally from a bath or shower enclosure).
