Description

The Hinkley Collier is a single-light wall fitting with a cylindrical clear seeded glass shade mounted on a black oxide backplate and arm. The glass cylinder sits 148mm from the wall, housing a single E27 bulb (sold separately) behind the seeded texture that diffuses the light output while maintaining transparency.

Designed for hallway accent lighting, beside-mirror positions in bathrooms, bedside task lighting, and flanking artwork or doorways, the Collier provides directional light without harsh glare. The 262mm height and 127mm width suit both horizontal and vertical pairings, allowing two or more fittings to be installed symmetrically on either side of a vanity mirror, headboard, or feature wall. The compact proportions work in spaces where projection is limited and a low-profile fitting is needed.

The black oxide finish is a matte treatment that sits darker than matt black, with subtle tonal variation under different lighting conditions. The Collier takes a standard E27 (Edison screw) bulb up to 60W maximum. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with a warm-white LED filament bulb between 4-8W and 2700K for soft ambient or task light that complements the seeded glass.

Can it be installed horizontally?

Yes. The Collier can be mounted with the glass cylinder oriented vertically (as shown) or horizontally, depending on the wall position and desired effect. Installation orientation does not affect function.

What is seeded glass?

Seeded glass contains small air bubbles trapped during the glass-blowing process, creating a textured, slightly distorted appearance. This diffuses direct light from the bulb and reduces glare while maintaining transparency, so the bulb filament remains visible but softened.

Is it suitable for bathroom use?

The Collier carries no stated IP rating and is designed for indoor dry-location use. It can be installed in bathrooms as beside-mirror lighting provided it is positioned outside splash zones (typically 600mm or more from taps and shower heads).
