Description

The Colette is an 80cm semi-flush ceiling light built around a ring-shaped chrome frame with six curved opal silicone diffusers, each housing integrated LED strips that combine to deliver 65W at 3000K. The chrome-plated aluminium frame sits 16cm proud of the ceiling, making this a semi-flush rather than a full flush-mount fitting, suitable for rooms with ceiling heights of 2.4m or above where a full pendant would hang too low.

Designed for living rooms, dining rooms and entrance halls of 20-30 square metres, the Colette provides ambient rather than task lighting. The opal silicone diffusers soften the LED light and prevent direct glare from below, while the ring configuration distributes light across the ceiling plane to reduce shadowing in corners. The included 0-10V dimmable driver allows the light output to be adjusted via a compatible wall dimmer, giving control over ambiance from full brightness down to a low glow.

The chrome finish is a high-polish electroplated surface on an aluminium base, giving a mirror-like reflection that pairs with chrome taps, handles and other metallic accents in contemporary interiors. The fitting weighs 2.56kg once assembled and ships with gravity toggles for secure ceiling fixing on plasterboard or solid ceilings. The opal diffusers are made from flexible silicone rather than glass, reducing the risk of breakage during installation or cleaning.

The IP20 rating limits the Colette to dry indoor locations away from direct moisture. Is the Colette dimmable?

Yes. The fitting includes a 0-10V dimmable LED driver. This requires a compatible 0-10V wall dimmer to control brightness — standard trailing-edge or leading-edge dimmers designed for incandescent bulbs will not work with this driver protocol. Confirm dimmer compatibility with your electrician before installation.

What room size does it suit?

The 80cm diameter and 65W output are calibrated for rooms of approximately 20-30 square metres. In smaller rooms the Colette may overpower the space visually; in larger open-plan areas it may need supplementing with additional fittings or task lighting.

Can the LED be replaced?

No. The LED strips are integrated into the fitting and are not user-replaceable. The LED is rated for approximately 25,000-30,000 hours of operation, equivalent to 10-12 years of typical domestic use at 6-8 hours per day.

What ceiling height is needed?

The 16cm projection from the ceiling means the lowest point of the fitting sits 16cm below the ceiling plane. For comfortable clearance in circulation areas, a ceiling height of 2.4m or above is recommended. Lower ceilings can still accommodate the Colette where it sits above furniture or in non-circulation zones.
