Coin 500mm Round CCT LED Flush Ceiling Light With Remote - Wood Effect Brown

The Coin is a 500mm diameter flush ceiling light with an integrated 80W LED and a wood-effect brown outer frame surrounding a circular acrylic diffuser. The LED is tuneable across a 2700-5000K colour temperature range and dimmable via the supplied infrared remote control, allowing the light to shift from warm amber to cool daylight white depending on time of day or task.

Designed for rooms with low ceilings where a pendant or semi-flush would hang too low, the Coin sits just 70mm from the ceiling once fitted, making it suitable for 2.3-2.4m ceiling heights common in flats, modern houses and converted spaces. The 500mm diameter and 3900 lumen output provide enough ambient light for living rooms, bedrooms and dining rooms up to approximately 20m², with the diffuser spreading light in a 120° beam angle to reduce harsh shadows.

The wood-effect brown frame is formed from moulded plastic printed to mimic oak grain, giving the appearance of a timber rim without the weight or moisture sensitivity of real wood. The frame projects 15mm beyond the diffuser, creating a shallow step that defines the circular edge and adds depth when viewed from an angle.

The remote control allows brightness adjustment across 1-100% and stores the last-used colour temperature and brightness setting in memory, so the fitting returns to the preferred setting when switched on at the wall. The LED driver is built into the ceiling plate and connects to standard UK mains wiring via a terminal block. No external driver box is required.

What does CCT tuneable mean?

CCT stands for Correlated Colour Temperature. This fitting allows you to adjust the light colour from warm white (2700K, similar to a tungsten bulb) through to cool daylight white (5000K) using the remote control. This lets you match the light to the time of day or the activity, warmer tones for evening relaxation, cooler tones for morning tasks or reading.

What ceiling height does it suit?

The Coin is designed for low ceilings. At just 70mm projection from the ceiling, it works well in rooms with 2.3-2.4m ceiling heights where a pendant or semi-flush would feel too low. The 500mm diameter and 3900 lumen output suit rooms up to approximately 20m².

Is the wood frame real timber?

No. The brown frame is moulded plastic with a printed wood-grain effect that mimics oak. This gives the appearance of timber without the weight, and avoids the moisture sensitivity issues that real wood would present in bathrooms or kitchens.

Does the remote require batteries?

Yes. The infrared remote control requires batteries (typically CR2025 or similar, check the supplied remote). The fitting itself connects to mains power and does not require batteries.
