Description
The Cobalt is a 690mm Tiffany-style table lamp built around a hand-assembled stained glass shade depicting hydrangea blooms in blues, lavenders, greens and cream, set on a vintage bronze resin base. The shade uses over 200 individually hand-cut glass pieces soldered into a copper foil framework, following traditional Tiffany assembly methods. Three E27 sockets inside the shade take standard bulbs up to 60W each, sold separately.
Designed for side tables, console tables and bedroom nightstands, the Cobalt provides ambient light filtered through coloured glass rather than direct task lighting. The 471mm diameter shade sits 690mm tall including the base, occupying a footprint suitable for surfaces 600mm wide or larger. The twin pull-chain switches allow independent control of upper and lower bulb circuits, so the lamp can be set to low, medium or full brightness depending on the time of day.
The vintage bronze finish on the resin base carries a darker patina around the raised detailing and a lighter tone on the flat surfaces, creating depth without looking uniform. The hydrangea pattern densifies towards the lower edge of the shade, with darker blue and purple tones concentrated in a scalloped border, while lighter greens and creams dominate the upper crown. When lit, the individual glass pieces cast layered colour onto nearby walls and ceilings, changing character depending on bulb temperature — warm whites (2700K) deepen the blues and purples, while cooler whites (4000K) bring out the greens.

Frequently Asked
What bulbs does it take and how many?
The Cobalt takes three E27 bulbs up to 60W each, sold separately. Most users pair this with 6-8W LED bulbs in warm white (2700K-3000K) to bring out the depth in the coloured glass without overheating the shade.
How is the brightness controlled?
Two pull-chain switches control upper and lower bulb circuits independently, allowing the lamp to run at low (one circuit), medium (two circuits) or full brightness (all three bulbs). This gives three brightness levels without needing a dimmer.
Is each lamp identical or do the glass patterns vary?
Each Cobalt shade is hand-assembled from individually cut stained glass pieces, so minor variations in glass tone, grain and placement occur between lamps. The overall hydrangea pattern remains consistent, but no two shades are molecularly identical.
What surface size is needed?
The 471mm diameter shade overhangs slightly on most standard side tables (typically 400-500mm wide). A surface 600mm wide or larger provides comfortable clearance and stability for the 690mm tall fitting.
