Is the Coastal suitable for fully exposed outdoor locations?

The IP44 rating provides splash protection but not full weatherproofing. The Coastal is designed for covered or semi-sheltered positions such as under eaves, porch canopies or garage overhangs where it is shielded from direct rainfall. Fully exposed positions facing prevailing rain require a higher IP rating.

Does the included bulb provide warm or cool light?

The included 8W GU10 LED bulb specification is listed in the datasheet. Most Hinkley outdoor fittings ship with 3000K warm white bulbs, but the GU10 socket accepts standard replacement bulbs in any colour temperature from 2700K to 6500K.

Can the light direction be adjusted?

No. The cone is fixed in a downward orientation and cannot be tilted or rotated. The GU10 beam angle determines the spread of light on the ground below, typically 36-38 degrees for standard GU10 LEDs.

What fixings are required for installation?

The rectangular backplate has two fixing points and requires wall plugs and screws suitable for the wall material — typically 6mm rawlplugs and 40mm screws for brick, or toggle fixings for hollow render. Fixings are not included with the lantern.
