Description

The Clomenne is a linear pendant light with three black dome shades hung from a single round bar in a warm wood tone, suspended on two slim black cords from a long black ceiling canopy. The shades are pale inside and open at the base, so the light is directed down towards whatever sits beneath them. It measures 77cm long and 20cm wide, with an overall height of 110cm. Each shade takes one E27 bulb of up to 40W, and the bulbs are not included, which leaves you free to pick the warmth of light that suits your room. It is rated IP20, which settles where it belongs: indoors, in a dry room, rather than a bathroom or a garden.

Three lights in a row are made for a long surface. Over a dining table, the shades spread light along its length, where a single central pendant would leave the ends dimmer. It works just as well over a coffee table in a living room, or in an open-plan space where the dining area meets the sitting area. The black steel and light wood pairing sits comfortably in simple modern and natural-toned interiors, and the black is easy to match with chairs, frames and table legs, while the wood bar brings warmth to plainer walls.

The body combines steel and wood, in a black and brown finish. There is no switch on the light itself: it is switched at the wall, from the light switch you already use. It runs on 220-240V, 50/60Hz, and as a wired-in mains light, it is installed by a qualified electrician; the installation instructions come as a download. Packed, it weighs 3.625KG. Before you buy bulbs, remember that it takes three E27 bulbs of up to 40W each, and warm white bulbs give a gentle glow for evening meals.
