Description

The Clivane is a flush LED ceiling light made of two wood bars, set side by side and offset along their length, on a black central ceiling mount. Each bar carries a black inset strip with a white plastic shade running along its underside, so the light comes from beneath while the wood grain stays on show. It is 94cm long, 8cm wide and 11.5cm high, a long, slim shape that suits a ceiling with length to fill. The light source is integrated LED, two lights at 10W each, giving 1,300lm per light at a warm white 3000K. It is rated IP20, which settles where it belongs: indoors, in dry rooms.

We see it working along a hallway, over a dining table, or across a living room or bedroom ceiling, wherever a long, low light sits better than a hanging one. The black and brown pairing works with oak-toned doors, dark cabinetry and plain painted walls, and the flush profile keeps the ceiling uncluttered in rooms with modest headroom. Because it is dimmable, you can run it bright for everyday tasks and bring it down for a quieter evening. There is no switch on the fitting itself: it is switched at the wall, so it answers to the light switch you already use.

The body is steel and wood in black and brown, and the shade is white plastic, running the full length of each lit strip. Because the LEDs are integrated, there is no bulb to buy or replace.
