This clip-on lampshade is constructed from fine black silk thread wound around a wire frame, creating an 8cm top diameter, 13cm base diameter, and 11cm height. The clip-on fitting grips directly onto small chandelier-style bulbs or candle bulbs in E14 or similar small fittings, removing the need for a separate shade carrier or harp.

Designed for wall lights, chandeliers and small table lamps where the bulb sits exposed and needs diffusion, the shade softens direct light without blocking it entirely. The silk thread construction allows light to pass through in a controlled way, creating a warm glow around the bulb while reducing glare. The black finish suits both contemporary interiors and classical lighting where contrast is wanted against pale walls or metalwork.

The wound silk thread gives the shade a matt texture that shows subtle variations in tone when lit, as the weave density varies slightly across the surface. At 120g the shade adds minimal weight to a bulb fitting and won't strain delicate chandelier arms or wall light brackets. The frame is steel wire, powder-coated black to match the thread.

The 8cm top opening clips over the base of an E14 candle bulb, and the 13cm base spreads the softened light outward across a wider area than a straight drum of the same height.
