Description
The Clio is a 330mm eyelid-style bulkhead with a black resin body, a white opal diffuser, and an E27 bulb fitting rated IP66 for full dust and water protection. The eyelid hood shields the top half of the diffuser, directing light downwards while cutting glare from above — a common requirement for wall-mounted outdoor lighting on patios, beside garage doors, and along building perimeters.
Designed for outdoor installation in residential gardens, commercial walkways, car parks and industrial yards, the Clio's IP66 rating protects against heavy rain, dust ingress, and pressure-wash cleaning. The resin construction is UV-treated to resist colour fade under direct sunlight and remains stable across temperatures from -60°C to +90°C, making it suitable for UK winters and hot summers alike. The material also resists corrosion from fertilisers, salt spray and common outdoor chemicals.
The bulkhead accepts any standard E27 LED, halogen or CFL bulb up to the rated wattage (sold separately), giving control over light output, colour temperature and running cost. The black finish suits modern, industrial and contemporary building facades, and the resin body weighs less than equivalent metal bulkheads while maintaining impact resistance. Ideal Lux back this fitting with a 5-year warranty.

Frequently Asked
What does IP66 mean for outdoor use?
IP66 provides full protection against dust ingress and high-pressure water jets from any direction. The Clio can be mounted on external walls exposed to heavy rain, garden hose cleaning, and coastal salt spray without moisture reaching the electrical components.
What bulb does it take?
The bulkhead accepts a standard E27 (Edison screw) bulb. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with a warm-white LED between 8-15W and 2700K-3000K for outdoor security and ambient lighting.
Can it withstand freezing temperatures?
Yes. The resin body and diffuser remain stable from -60°C to +90°C, so the fitting handles UK winter frosts, ice and snow without cracking or losing weatherproofing.
Is the eyelid hood necessary?
The eyelid shields the top half of the diffuser, reducing upward light spill and glare when viewed from above. This is useful on walls where the bulkhead sits at or below eye level, such as patio walls, garage entrances, and ground-floor building facades.
