Class 20 Light Square Glass & Crystal Cluster Pendant - Chrome & Black

The Diyas Class is a 20 light cluster pendant built around a 600mm polished chrome square canopy from which handformed clear glass loops accented with black resin descend on individual wires. Each loop houses a G4 10W halogen capsule bulb, and interspersed among the loops are strings of clear Asfour crystal spheres and faceted crystal droplets that terminate the cables. The combined drop from canopy to lowest crystal is 1000mm.

Designed for double-height entrance halls, stairwells and dining rooms with ceiling heights of 3m or above, the Class creates a layered lighting effect where the 20 individual bulbs provide functional downlight while the crystal strings act as decorative reflectors, scattering light horizontally as the crystals rotate in air currents. The square 600mm footprint suits rectangular dining tables and allows the pendant to be centred over a 1.8-2.4m table without overwhelming the space.

The black resin accent on each glass loop gives definition to the individual elements and prevents the pendant from reading as a mass of undifferentiated glass when unlit. The polished chrome finish on the frame and cable terminations picks up ambient light and ties the fixture visually to chrome taps, cabinet hardware and appliance finishes common in open-plan kitchen-dining spaces. At 14.5kg the pendant requires secure fixing to a joist or ceiling support rated for the weight. The 20 G4 halogen bulbs are included and the fitting is dimmable using a trailing-edge dimmer.

What ceiling height is needed?

The 1000mm drop from canopy to lowest crystal suits ceiling heights of 3m or above. In a dining room the base of the pendant would typically sit 700-900mm above the table surface, so a 2.7m ceiling is the practical minimum if the fitting is to clear head height when standing.

Are the bulbs included?

Yes. The Class includes 20 x G4 10W halogen capsule bulbs. These are not LED or CFL compatible — only halogen G4 capsules should be used as replacements.

Is it dimmable?

Yes, but a trailing-edge dimmer is required. Standard leading-edge dimmers designed for incandescent bulbs will not work correctly with the halogen capsules and may cause flickering or premature bulb failure.

How is the 14.5kg weight supported?

The ceiling fixing must be secured to a joist or a ceiling support rated for at least 15kg. Plasterboard alone will not support the pendant safely. If the joist run does not align with the desired pendant position, a spreader plate fixed across two joists is required before installation.
