Class 20 Light Crystal Cluster Pendant - Chrome & White Glass

The Class is a 600mm diameter crystal cluster pendant carrying 20 G4 bulbs across a circular polished chrome frame. Clear glass loops curve outward from the chrome canopy, each inlaid with white resin, creating a contrast between the transparent outer curve and the opaque inner band. Suspended on fine cables from the loops are Asfour crystal spheres and additional glass elements in both clear and black tones, forming vertical strands that hang at varying lengths across a 1000mm drop.

Designed for dining rooms, entrance halls and double-height living spaces with ceiling clearances of 2.7m or higher, the Class requires a reinforced ceiling rose to support its 11.5kg weight. The 20 G4 bulbs at 10W each (included) produce a combined 200W output, giving strong ambient light that refracts through the crystal strands and reflects off the polished chrome. The pendant is dimmable using a trailing edge dimmer, allowing light levels to be adjusted for different times of day.

The chrome loops are formed from bent tube, not solid rod, keeping the frame weight manageable while maintaining structural rigidity. The white resin inlay inside each loop sits flush with the glass surface, giving a clean edge to the contrast between materials. The Asfour crystal used in the strands is machine-cut optical glass rather than natural mineral crystal, providing consistent clarity and facet angles across all the spheres. The black glass elements interspersed with the clear crystals break up the visual rhythm and prevent the pendant from appearing too uniform when lit.

Is the Class suitable for low ceilings?

No. The 1000mm drop plus the 600mm canopy diameter means the pendant needs a ceiling height of at least 2.7m to avoid the lower crystal strands hanging below head height in a typical room. Higher ceilings of 3m or more allow the pendant to sit more comfortably in the space.

What dimmer is required?

A trailing edge dimmer is required for the G4 halogen bulbs included with the pendant. Leading edge dimmers will cause flickering and may damage the bulbs. Check that your dimmer is rated for at least 200W total load.

Can the G4 bulbs be replaced with LEDs?

The manufacturer states this pendant is not compatible with LED or CFL bulbs. The G4 halogen bulbs included are the only supported lamp type. Attempting to use G4 LEDs may cause compatibility issues with the transformer.

Does the pendant need a reinforced ceiling fixing?

Yes. At 11.5kg the Class exceeds the safe load for a standard plasterboard ceiling rose. The pendant must be fixed to a joist or a reinforced ceiling anchor rated for at least 15kg. Professional installation is recommended.
