Description
The Clarixa is an 80cm LED bollard light built from aluminium with a grey powder-coated finish and an integrated warm white 3000K LED housed in a downward-angled head at the top of the post. The LED casts light onto the ground immediately in front of the bollard, providing pathway and step illumination without upward light spill that would affect dark sky areas or bedroom windows.
Designed for front gardens, driveways, pathways, patios and commercial landscaping where low-level guidance lighting is needed, the Clarixa suits both residential and hospitality applications. The 80cm height positions the light head at knee-to-mid-thigh level, high enough to clear most ground planting but low enough not to dominate sightlines across a garden. The IP54 rating protects against dust ingress and water splashing from any direction, making the bollard suitable for UK year-round outdoor use in exposed positions.
The aluminium construction resists corrosion better than steel in damp coastal or urban environments, while the grey finish pairs cleanly with contemporary rendered facades, grey composite decking, and slate or porcelain paving. The integrated LED removes the need for bulb replacement and provides consistent 3000K output across its operational life. The base plate fixes to a solid surface or paving slab with four fixings, with the cable run concealed beneath ground level or routed through conduit where required by local wiring regulations.

Frequently Asked
What does the IP54 rating mean for outdoor use?
IP54 provides protection against dust ingress and water splashing from any direction. The Clarixa can be used in exposed outdoor positions year-round in the UK, including areas subject to rain and garden hose spray, but it is not designed for submersion or direct high-pressure water jets.
Can the LED be replaced if it fails?
The LED is integrated into the bollard and is not user-replaceable. Ideal Lux provides a 5-year warranty covering LED failure, which is longer than the typical lifespan concern for integrated LED outdoor fittings.
How is the bollard installed?
The base plate fixes to a solid surface or paving slab with four fixings. The mains cable must be run underground in suitable conduit or armoured cable to the bollard position. Installation should be carried out by a qualified electrician in accordance with BS 7671 wiring regulations.
What spacing is recommended between bollards?
For pathway lighting, spacing of 3-5m between bollards typically provides continuous guidance light without over-illuminating the path. Spacing depends on the width of the path, surrounding planting, and whether the bollards are used alone or alongside other garden lighting.
