Description

The Citronic Classic 6m speaker cable connects passive loudspeakers to amplifiers via two SPK plugs, one at each end. Each conductor carries 1.5mm² cross-sectional area made from 50-strand 0.17mm pure copper wire, providing low-resistance signal transmission for speaker-level audio. The dual-latch SPK connectors provide a secure friction-grip connection compatible with SPK chassis sockets on PA speakers, studio monitors and amplifier outputs.

Designed for mobile DJ setups, rehearsal spaces, small-to-medium live venues and home studios where speakers are positioned 3-6m from the amplifier. The 7mm-diameter rubberised jacket is soft enough to coil without memory kinks but tough enough to handle repeated packing, transport and setup. Cotton-reinforced internal construction reduces conductor breakage from flexing at plug entry points, a common failure mode in cheaper speaker cables subjected to weekly use.

The 6m length suits typical stage-to-speaker runs in function rooms, small halls and pub venues, leaving enough slack for amplifier placement behind a DJ booth or on a back table. The cable supports continuous full-range audio from PA amplifiers up to several hundred watts without signal degradation, with the 1.5mm² copper cross-section matching the cable gauge recommendation for speaker runs under 10m. What speakers is this compatible with?

The SPK plugs fit chassis sockets on passive PA speakers, studio monitors and powered speakers with SPK inputs. The connectors use a dual-pin latching design that locks into compatible SPK sockets found on AVSL, Citronic, QTX and many other PA speaker brands.

What power handling does the 1.5mm² gauge support?

At 6m length, the 1.5mm² copper conductors handle several hundred watts of amplifier output without significant voltage drop or signal loss. For very high-power systems above 500W per channel, 2.5mm² cable is recommended, but 1.5mm² is appropriate for most mobile DJ and small venue setups.

Is the cable directional?

No. Speaker cable is non-directional — either end can connect to the amplifier or the speaker. The SPK plugs are identical at both ends.

Can this be used for stage lighting DMX?

No. This is speaker cable designed for audio transmission. DMX lighting control requires dedicated 3-pin or 5-pin XLR cable with correct impedance characteristics. Using speaker cable for DMX will cause signal errors and control failures.
