The Cirbette is a flush ceiling light built around a long wooden beam, held in black steel brackets and fixed to the ceiling by a black plate. It measures 65.5cm long, 10cm wide and 4.5cm high, so it sits close to the ceiling rather than hanging down into the room. Three E27 lampholders drop from the brackets, each taking a bulb of up to 40W; the bulbs are not included, which leaves the choice with you. It is rated IP20, so it is made for indoor rooms that stay dry.

Because it keeps so close to the ceiling, this black and brown flush ceiling light suits rooms where a pendant would eat into the head height, such as a living room, a study, a bedroom or a hallway. Its long, narrow shape spreads light along a line instead of from a single point, which we think works well over a sideboard, a run of shelving or a dining table.
