Description

The Chroma 2 is a 350mm brass picture light with a curved arm and an adjustable cylindrical head housing two E14 bulbs. The arm extends 180mm from the wall and the head tilts on a brass-bushed joint, allowing the light to be directed onto artwork, mirrors or architectural features from above. The brass finish is untreated and develops a natural patina over time.

Designed for picture frames, mirrors and wall-mounted displays in galleries, living rooms, hallways and home offices, the Chroma 2 suits frames between 400mm and 900mm wide depending on mounting height. The twin E14 bulbs spread light across the width of the frame more evenly than a single-source spotlight, reducing hotspots and shadow edges. The fitting is dimmable when paired with compatible E14 LED bulbs and a trailing-edge dimmer.

The cylindrical head wraps around the bulbs to shield direct glare from eye level while directing light downward onto the artwork surface. The curved arm holds the head approximately 180mm forward of the wall, positioning the light source far enough from the frame to avoid casting the frame's own shadow onto the artwork. The brass construction gives the fitting a warm metallic presence that pairs with traditional gilt frames, contemporary brass-edged mirrors and warm-toned interiors.

What size picture frame does it suit?

The 350mm width suits frames between 400mm and 900mm wide depending on how high above the frame the light is mounted. For frames wider than 900mm, two Chroma 2 fittings can be mounted symmetrically.

What bulbs does it take?

The fitting takes two E14 (small Edison screw) bulbs, sold separately. Most users pair this with 4-6W warm-white LED candle or golf ball bulbs at 2700K-3000K for art lighting. Maximum wattage per bulb depends on the bulb type — check the specification for LED, halogen or incandescent limits.

Is it dimmable?

Yes, when fitted with dimmable E14 LED bulbs and paired with a compatible trailing-edge dimmer switch. The fitting itself does not contain dimming electronics, so dimmer compatibility depends on the bulbs chosen.

Can the head angle be adjusted?

Yes. The cylindrical head tilts on a brass joint, allowing the light direction to be angled to suit the height and tilt of the frame or mirror being illuminated.
