This light-up decoration is a snowy little house built like a log cabin, made for the Christmas season and finished in brown and cream with a sparkle of glitter. Its roof is a heap of brown shingles under drifts of snow, with two dormer windows, a small turret topped with a frosted fir, and cream log-effect walls below. Two paned windows sit either side of a plank-effect door hung with a wreath and a red bow, with a pair of antlers above it and little steps leading up. A fox in a red scarf waits by the door, a robin perches on a snowy post beside a hanging Welcome sign, and a green fir tree stands at the corner. It is made of plastic and measures 21.5cm tall, 20cm wide and 11cm deep.

When it is lit, the windows and door glow from within, so the cottage looks as though someone is home for Christmas. Its compact size suits a mantelpiece, a sideboard, a hall table, a bookshelf or an indoor windowsill, and at 11cm deep it fits on narrow ledges. It is for dry rooms indoors. The house runs on one CR2032 coin cell battery, which is included. Being battery powered, it needs no plug, socket or trailing cable, so you can place it wherever suits you.
