Description

The Chiqu is a battery-powered portable table lamp with an integrated 2W LED, a matt green aluminium base and a ribbed acrylic shade that diffuses 100 lumens of soft ambient light. The lamp operates on a rechargeable 3.7V battery charged via USB, and is controlled by a touch-sensitive switch on the top of the shade. A leather loop attached to the side allows the lamp to be carried between rooms or outdoors.

Designed for use on bedside tables, side tables, window sills, balconies and outdoor dining tables, the Chiqu provides cordless accent lighting wherever mains power is inconvenient or unavailable. The IP20 rating limits use to dry indoor environments and covered outdoor areas only — the lamp is not weatherproof and should not be left exposed to rain. The 9cm diameter and 15cm height make it small enough to sit on a narrow shelf or the arm of a sofa without taking up significant surface area.

The ribbed acrylic shade creates vertical lines of light and shadow across the surrounding surface when the lamp is switched on, and the opal interior diffuses the LED source evenly without harsh glare. The 3000-4000K colour temperature range delivers warm-to-neutral white light depending on brightness setting. At 0.34kg the lamp can be moved frequently without effort, and the matt green finish pairs with mid-century, Scandinavian and contemporary interiors that use muted botanical tones.
