Chicago Small Outdoor Wall Lantern - Black

The Chicago is a 470mm outdoor wall lantern in textured black aluminium with clear seeded blown glass panels and a single E27 fitting. The lantern projects 280mm from the wall on a curved decorative arm, housing the bulb (sold separately) inside a downward-facing glass chamber that allows light to spill out through the seeded glass while protecting the bulb from rain and moisture. The IP44 rating confirms protection against splashes of water from any direction and against objects larger than 1mm.

Designed for porches, front entrances, patios and garden walls where period styling is wanted without overwhelming the architecture, the Chicago suits traditional properties dating from the late Victorian to early Edwardian period, as well as contemporary homes looking to add a turn-of-the-century accent. The compact 235mm width and downward light direction make it suitable for spaces where wall width is limited or where strong upward light would cause glare through adjacent windows.

The aluminium body is powder-coated in a textured black finish that hides minor surface marks and weathers cleanly in exposed positions. IP44 confirms the lantern is protected against splashes of water from any direction and against dust and objects larger than 1mm. What bulb should I use?

Can this be fitted on a rendered or brick wall?

Yes. The backplate has mounting holes for standard masonry fixings. You will need wall plugs and screws suitable for the wall material, plus a waterproof cable gland or grommet where the mains cable enters the wall.

The total projection from wall to the front of the glass is 280mm. The curved arm holds the glass chamber approximately 150mm clear of the wall, leaving space for the bulb to be changed without removing the entire fitting.
