Description

The Chelso is a 250mm round LED wall light with an integrated 14W LED (3000K) behind a satin-finished acrylic diffuser, mounted on a white powder-coated metal body. The circular profile projects 250mm from the wall, directing light outward and upward to create an indirect wash across adjacent surfaces rather than a focused beam.

Designed for hallways, staircases, living rooms and bedrooms where ambient rather than task lighting is needed, the Chelso adds soft illumination without harsh shadows or glare. The satin acrylic diffuser softens the LED output to a gentle glow that highlights wall texture and architectural detail. The 250mm diameter makes it suitable for standard ceiling heights of 2.4m or above without visually overwhelming narrow corridors.

The white powder-coated metal body resists everyday marking and pairs cleanly with white or neutral walls in contemporary and minimalist interiors. The IP20 rating limits use to dry indoor areas — not suitable for bathrooms or outdoor installation. The fitting fixes to a standard wall back box with a concealed fixing plate, so no screws are visible once installed.

The integrated LED is rated for approximately 25,000 hours of use at 3000K warm white, equivalent to around 10 years of typical domestic use at 6-8 hours per day. The LED is not user-replaceable, but Ideal Lux backs the fitting with a 5-year warranty covering manufacturing defects.

Frequently Asked

Is the Chelso dimmable?

No. The integrated LED is not compatible with dimmer switches. Attempting to install this on a dimmed circuit may damage the driver or cause flickering.

Can it be used in a bathroom?

No. The IP20 rating limits the Chelso to dry indoor areas only. For bathroom use, look for fittings rated IP44 or higher.

What type of light does it produce?

The Chelso produces indirect ambient light, washing the wall and ceiling rather than directing a focused beam. The satin acrylic diffuser softens the 14W LED output to a gentle glow suitable for hallways and living spaces.

Can the LED be replaced when it fails?

No. The LED is integrated and not user-replaceable. The LED is rated for approximately 25,000 hours, equivalent to around 10 years of typical domestic use. Ideal Lux provides a 5-year warranty covering the entire fitting.
