Description

The Charlotte is a 406mm diameter semi-flush ceiling light with three E27 bulb sockets housed behind an off-white linen shade and a brushed caramel gold metal frame. The frame consists of four solid metal uprights that sweep outward from the ceiling canopy to support a circular trim ring, holding the fabric drum shade in place. A domed glass diffuser sits at the base of the shade, secured by cast decorative knobs that give the fitting a vintage mechanical detail.

Designed for rooms with ceiling heights of 2.4m or above where a full pendant would hang too low, the Charlotte fixes directly to the ceiling as a semi-flush fitting, with a 330mm total drop from canopy to diffuser. This makes it suitable for hallways, dining areas with low ceilings, and bedrooms where ceiling clearance is limited but ambient light from multiple bulbs is needed. The three E27 sockets accept standard LED, halogen or filament bulbs up to 60W each (sold separately), giving flexibility to choose light temperature and brightness.

The linen shade diffuses light evenly across the room while the metal frame adds structural presence without blocking the illumination. The Charlotte has three E27 (Edison screw) sockets, each rated for a maximum 60W bulb. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with warm-white LED bulbs between 6-10W and 2700K-3000K for ambient room lighting.

Is it suitable for low ceilings?

Yes. The semi-flush fitting sits 330mm below the ceiling, making it suitable for rooms with standard 2.4m ceiling heights or above. Unlike a pendant light, it does not require additional drop clearance.

Can the linen shade be cleaned?

The off-white fabric shade can be dusted with a soft brush or vacuumed gently on a low setting. For deeper cleaning, spot-clean with a barely-damp cloth and mild detergent, but avoid soaking the fabric as this may affect the shape and adhesive backing.

Is the Charlotte dimmable?

Dimmer compatibility depends on the bulbs you install. If you use dimmable LED bulbs, the Charlotte can be fitted to a dimmer switch. The metal frame and fabric shade do not affect dimming performance.
