Description

The Chance is a 327mm flush ceiling light from Quoizel with a natural brass cage frame holding a soft white glass dome. Two E27 bulbs (sold separately, up to 60W each) sit inside the dome, diffusing light through the opal glass to create ambient rather than task lighting. The IP44 rating means the fitting is protected against splashes from any direction, making it suitable for bathroom zones 2 and 3, as well as other humid environments.

Designed for rooms with ceiling heights below 2.4m where a pendant would hang too low, the Chance projects just 136mm from the ceiling once fitted. The flush mount works in bathrooms, hallways, landings, walk-in wardrobes and entrance halls where ceiling space is limited. The natural brass finish provides a warm metallic accent that pairs with both traditional and contemporary interiors, particularly those with warm-toned wood, neutral tiles or painted panelling.

The cage structure divides the glass dome into horizontal bands, adding visual interest when the light is switched off and casting subtle shadow lines when lit. The brass is unlacquered, so it will develop a patina over time if exposed to moisture and air, deepening the tone from bright gold towards antique brass. For those preferring the original bright finish, occasional polishing with a brass cleaner maintains the as-new appearance.

Can this be used in a bathroom?

Yes. The IP44 rating protects the fitting against splashes from any direction, making it suitable for bathroom zones 2 and 3. It cannot be installed in zone 0 (inside a shower cubicle or above a bath) or zone 1 (directly above a bath or shower tray to a height of 2.25m).
