The Champignon is a glass mushroom table lamp: a white glass dome shade sits on a slim brass stem that rises from a round, flat base. The dome takes the light from within and spreads it softly through the glass, so the glow is gentle rather than sharp. At 35cm tall and 24cm across, it is a compact table lamp that suits a bedside table or a side table without crowding it. The stem and base are brass, and the lamp comes in Antique Brass, Antique Silver, Matt Black, Polished Brass and Satin Brass, with the Matt Black finish painted in RAL 9005.

It belongs where you want a gentle light close at hand. Beside the bed it gives a soft glow for reading a few pages before sleep, and on a side table in the living room it adds a quiet pool of light next to the sofa in the evening. It plugs in, with a UK plug on a cable 1.25m long as standard, so you can place it on any table the cable reaches and move it from room to room as you like. It is rated IP20, so it is for dry rooms only.

Every Champignon is made to order for you in Ireland, in the finish you choose, from brass and a white glass dome. The maker guarantees the fittings it makes for five years from the date of purchase; bulbs are not covered. One practical point before you first switch it on: bulbs are sold separately, and the lamp takes one E27 bulb, up to 40W per bulb, so pick one up with the lamp.
