Description

The Cesmine pendant light is a rise-and-fall ceiling light built from three stacked shades: two wide, flat discs and a deeper dome that hangs beneath them. The shades are steel, black on their upper faces with copper-coloured undersides, so the copper glows warmly once the bulb is lit. It measures 110cm tall overall and 43cm across. It takes an E27 bulb of up to 60W, and the bulb is not included, so you can choose the colour of light you like best. It is rated IP20, which settles where it belongs: indoors, in a dry room.

Hung over a dining table or a kitchen island, the layered shades send light down onto the surface while the copper-coloured undersides add a warm tone to the room. Because the height adjusts by hand, you can pull it low for meals and push it back up when you need the space clear, which suits rooms that do more than one job. It also works well in a living room, a hallway with good ceiling height or a home office. The mix of black and copper sits comfortably with wood, grey and white schemes alike.

The body pairs plastic and steel, and the shades are steel throughout, with slim copper-coloured struts holding the layers apart. There is no switch on the light itself, so it is switched at the wall, and it runs on 220-240V, 50/60Hz mains.
