Description
The Cell is an outdoor wall light built around a rectangular graphite aluminium frame with a transparent polycarbonate diffuser on four sides and a single E27 bulb fitting inside. The top and bottom plates are solid, directing all light horizontally through the diffuser and upwards onto the wall behind, creating a wash effect that highlights brickwork, render or cladding textures at night.
Designed for covered porches, garden walls, garage entrances and building facades where architectural accent is needed without flooding ground-level areas with light, the Cell fits standard outdoor back boxes and requires an E27 LED bulb up to 15W (sold separately). The IP65 rating provides full protection against dust and rain, making it suitable for exposed locations where the light remains mounted year-round through UK weather.
The graphite finish is a low-sheen charcoal grey that sits between matt black and metallic grey, pairing with both modern dark cladding and lighter render or brick facades. The aluminium frame weighs approximately 800g when fitted with a standard E27 LED bulb, and the 14.5cm width keeps the light compact enough for narrow wall sections between windows or doorways. The transparent diffuser shows the bulb outline when lit, so choosing a filament-style LED gives a warmer, more decorative appearance than a standard frosted bulb.

Frequently Asked
What bulb does the Cell take?
The Cell takes a standard E27 (Edison screw) bulb up to 15W. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with a warm-white LED between 6-10W and 2700K-3000K. A filament-style LED gives a warmer appearance through the transparent diffuser than a standard frosted bulb.
Does the IP65 rating make it suitable for fully exposed locations?
Yes. The IP65 rating provides full protection against dust and rain, including driving rain and water jets from any direction. The light can be mounted on exposed garden walls, garage entrances and building facades where it faces UK weather year-round.
Does the light project downwards or upwards?
The Cell projects light horizontally through the transparent diffuser on all four sides, and upwards onto the wall behind. The solid top and bottom plates block direct downward or upward projection, creating a wall-wash effect rather than ground lighting.
What colour is graphite?
Graphite is a low-sheen charcoal grey that sits between matt black and metallic grey. It pairs with modern dark cladding, lighter render and traditional brick facades without contrasting as starkly as pure black or appearing as warm-toned as bronze or brass finishes.
