Description

The Cell is a 50cm bollard light built around a graphite-finished aluminium frame with a transparent polycarbonate diffuser and a single E27 bulb fitting. The frame forms a tall rectangular lantern structure with top and base plates in graphite aluminium, while the diffuser panels allow light from the central bulb to cast in all four directions.

Designed for driveways, garden paths and outdoor seating areas, the 50cm height positions the light source at mid-shin level, providing ground-level illumination without causing glare when viewed from standing height. The IP54 rating protects against dust ingress and water spray from any direction, making the bollard suitable for year-round outdoor installation in the UK. The 14.5cm square footprint requires a ground fixing via the base plate, typically with M8 or M10 anchor bolts into a concrete base or paved surface.

The graphite finish is a mid-tone charcoal grey that sits between true black and lighter grey tones, pairing well with dark renders, slate paving and contemporary outdoor schemes. The Cell takes a standard E27 (Edison screw) bulb up to 15W maximum. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with a warm-white LED bulb between 6-10W and 2700K-3000K for pathway lighting.

How is the bollard fixed to the ground?

The base plate has fixing holes for M8 or M10 anchor bolts. The bollard is typically fixed to a concrete foundation or paved surface, with the cable entering through a conduit in the base before being connected to a buried outdoor supply cable. Installation should be carried out by a qualified electrician.

Is it suitable for coastal areas?

The aluminium construction and IP54 rating make the Cell more resistant to damp and moisture than mild steel equivalents, but aluminium can still corrode in salt-laden coastal environments. For long-term coastal installations, periodic inspection and cleaning of the finish is recommended.

What's the light distribution pattern?
