Cedric 2 Light Medium Pendant - Black & Brass

The Cedric is a 330mm diameter pendant light with a matt black cylindrical shade suspended on a brass rod from a matching brass ceiling plate. Two E27 bulbs inside the shade (sold separately) light an etched opal glass diffuser at the base, which spreads even ambient light downwards while concealing the bulbs from direct view. The 390mm shade height gives the fitting a vertical proportion suited to higher ceilings.

Designed for kitchens, dining tables and breakfast bars with ceiling heights of 2.4m or above, the Cedric works as a single pendant over a 1.2-1.5m table or in pairs/triples over longer islands and counters. The minimum drop of 490mm positions the shade 600-800mm above a worktop or table surface, while the maximum 1404mm drop accommodates taller ceiling heights. The brass rod and ceiling plate contrast with the matt black shade, adding warmth without introducing a second heavy material.

The matt black finish on the metal shade is a low-sheen powder coat that minimises reflections under daylight and pairs with industrial, mid-century and contemporary interiors. The etched opal diffuser at the base prevents glare and softens the light spread, making the Cedric suitable for task areas where direct bulb visibility would be distracting. The cylindrical form and clean lines allow the fitting to sit comfortably in both residential and hospitality settings where architectural simplicity is preferred over decorative detailing.

What bulbs does the Cedric take?

The pendant takes two E27 (Edison screw) bulbs up to 60W each. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with warm-white LED bulbs between 6-10W and 2700K-3000K for ambient dining or kitchen lighting.

Can the drop height be adjusted?

Yes. The pendant can be installed anywhere between a 490mm minimum drop and a 1404mm maximum drop, allowing the shade height to be set based on ceiling height and the surface below. Adjustment is made during installation.

Is the opal diffuser replaceable?

The etched opal glass diffuser is a separate component fitted to the base of the shade. Contact Hinkley or Niori for replacement diffuser parts if the glass is damaged.

Can multiple Cedric pendants be installed together?

Yes. The Cedric is commonly installed in pairs or triples over kitchen islands, long dining tables or bar counters. Space individual pendants 600-800mm apart for even light distribution and visual rhythm.
