Description
The Cedar Point is a 418mm-tall outdoor wall lantern with a black powder-coated metal frame and seeded glass panels on all four sides. The frame uses a traditional lantern silhouette — square pyramid roof, latticed vertical bars, flat back plate — updated with slimmer proportions and cleaner corner joints. An E27 bulb sits inside the glass enclosure (sold separately), with the seeded texture diffusing the light outward in all directions while maintaining a visible filament glow through the textured surface.
Designed for larger exterior positions — front porches, garage entrances, garden walls flanking a gate — the Cedar Point provides both illumination and visibility from the street. The IP44 rating protects against rain and dust ingress, making the lantern suitable for UK exterior installation where it's mounted on a wall or under an overhang but not in direct sustained water flow. The 286mm projection from the wall gives the lantern presence on taller two-storey facades without overwhelming single-storey cottage or bungalow frontages.
The black finish is a low-sheen powder coat over metal, not gloss paint, so it sits comfortably against brick, render, timber cladding and painted masonry without looking too industrial. The seeded glass uses a controlled bubble pattern pressed into the glass during manufacture, so each panel shows a consistent texture rather than random distortion. Quoizel builds the Cedar Point with welded corner joints and a one-piece back plate that mounts directly to UK standard outdoor junction boxes.

Frequently Asked
What does IP44 mean for outdoor use?
IP44 indicates protection against solid objects above 1mm and splashing water from any direction. The Cedar Point is suitable for installation on external walls, under eaves, or in covered porches where it's sheltered from direct prolonged water flow. It is not rated for fully exposed positions such as the top of a freestanding post in an open garden.
What bulb does it take?
The lantern accepts one E27 (Edison screw) bulb up to 60W. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with a warm-white LED filament bulb at 6-8W and 2700K to replicate a traditional outdoor lantern look while keeping running costs low.
Can it be mounted upside down?
No. The Cedar Point is designed for upright mounting only, with the pyramid roof at the top to shed rainwater. The back plate has a single central mounting point and the glass panels are sealed to prevent water ingress when correctly oriented.
What wall colour does it suit?
The black powder-coated finish pairs well with white, grey, brick-red, stone and timber cladding. It provides high contrast against lighter walls and blends more subtly with darker render or painted brick.
