Description

The Cayman Square is a dual-function LED wall light with a 130mm square backplate in sand black matt finish, pairing a 3W adjustable reading arm with a 6W diffused backlight behind the plate. The reading arm projects from the backplate at an angle, delivering 30° beam spotlight for bedside reading or desk tasks, while the 6W LED behind the backplate casts soft ambient light through a 120° beam across the surrounding wall. Both LEDs run at 3000K warm white and are controlled by independent switches on the fitting.

Designed for bedrooms where bedside reading light is needed without a table lamp, the Cayman mounts beside the bed at approximately 1.2-1.5m height, allowing the reading arm to be angled towards a pillow without needing overhead ceiling light. The backlight can be used independently as a night light or low-level ambient source when reading is finished. In living rooms and home offices the fitting works as an accent wall light with directed task capability where needed. The 116mm projection from wall to reading arm tip suits typical UK bedroom and alcove dimensions.

The sand black finish is a textured matt coating over the metal backplate and aluminium reading arm, absorbing rather than reflecting ambient light. The square backplate measures 130mm on each edge, giving a compact footprint on the wall that sits between a traditional picture light and a larger wall sconce. The reading arm is angled during manufacture and does not articulate after installation. Position the fitting at the correct height on the wall to direct the 30° beam towards the reading position.

Can the two light sources be controlled separately?

Yes. The Cayman has independent switches for the 3W reading arm and the 6W backlight, allowing you to use one or both depending on whether you need focused reading light or ambient wash light.

Is the Cayman dimmable?

No. The integrated LEDs are not dimmable and should be wired to a standard on/off circuit. Control is via the two switches on the fitting itself.

What height should it be mounted for bedside use?

For bedside reading, mount the Cayman at 1.2-1.5m above floor level, positioning the backplate so the reading arm angles towards the pillow. The exact height depends on bed height and mattress thickness.
