Description

Twisted flex, with a woven white braid over each of the two cores and the pair wound together into a neat rope. The braid gives it a softer, more textile look than smooth PVC, and the twist holds its shape so the cable sits tidily where it can be seen. At 6mm across it stays slim and easy to handle. We sell it by the metre, and however many metres you order it comes to you as a single continuous run rather than separate pieces. It is VDE approved.

This is the cable to choose when the flex is part of the look: a pendant on a long drop, a cluster over a dining table, or a rewire of a table or floor lamp whose old flex has yellowed. White suits pale ceilings and painted walls, where a dark cable would draw the eye. It is one we reach for in kitchens and hallways, and in workshops and studios where fittings are made up to order. Keep it to dry indoor rooms, away from bathroom zones and damp outbuildings.

Each conductor is insulated and sleeved, then the two are twisted together, so the braid is what you see and what you handle; the white runs right through the weave. Keep it clean with a dry cloth drawn along the braid, since a woven finish holds dust more readily than a plain sheath, and do that with the power off and the lamp unplugged. Elsewhere in the range we stock braided cable in black, red, blue, purple and lime green, along with plain black PVC, clear flat cable and a slimmer cable for wiring LED items. Lamp holders and plugs are bought separately.
