Description

A bright lime braid woven over round two core flex, in the 0.75mm conductor size that suits most domestic light fittings. The weave gives the cable a textile surface instead of bare plastic, and the colour reads sharp and acidic against a white ceiling or a dark shade. Measured across the braid it comes to 6mm, so it sits neatly in ordinary cord grips. Order the quantity you want and it comes as a single continuous run rather than short pieces.

We keep the braided flexes for the jobs where the cable is part of the look: a pendant dropped over a kitchen island, a cluster above a dining table, a plug in table lamp or a standard lamp whose flex shows against pale walls. Lime is the boldest of the colours we stock, and it earns its place in a studio, a child's room, a workshop or a kitchen that already carries strong colour. It is intended for light fittings indoors on a normal household supply, and wants to stay well clear of damp.

The braid is woven over the insulated cores, giving a surface that is firm in the hand and pleasant to run through your fingers. It is VDE approved. We would pair it with a matt black or brass lampholder where the green wants a counterweight, though it is just as good left plain. To clean, run a dry cloth or a soft brush along the braid with the power off, and leave solvents and damp cloths alone, since moisture in the weave does the covering no favours. The same braid is offered in blue, purple, red, black and white, and there are plain PVC and clear flexes in the range if you would rather the cable disappeared. Lamps and fittings are bought separately.

Frequently Asked

How much cable do I get?

What size is the cable?

It is a two core flex with 0.75mm conductors, measuring 6mm across the outer braid.

Is it approved for use?

Yes, it is VDE approved.

Can I use it outdoors or in a shower room?

No. Keep it to dry indoor rooms on a household supply; the woven covering is not made for wet or exposed positions.

Does the braid come in other colours?

Yes. We stock the same braided 0.75mm flex in blue, purple, red, black and white, along with plain PVC and clear versions in this range.
