Caviron Block Marble Table Lamp - Black Marble & Brass

The Caviron is a 700mm-tall table lamp built around a solid rectangular block of black marble, set on a brushed brass plinth with a slim brass stem rising to a rectangular ivory PVC shade. The marble block measures 420mm long by 250mm wide at the base footprint, with natural ivory veining moving horizontally across the polished stone. A single E27 lamp socket sits inside the shade, accepting standard screw-fit bulbs sold separately.

Designed for sideboards, console tables and larger bedside tables, the Caviron suits positions where a substantial low-level light source is wanted without a tall column lamp. The 420mm shade width gives a wide pool of diffused light, making it useful as bedside reading light on a king or super-king console, or as ambient lighting on a hallway console or living room sideboard. The brass plinth lifts the marble block clear of the surface and houses the cable exit.

Each marble block is cut from natural stone, so the pattern of ivory veining and the depth of the black tone vary between individual lamps. The polished surface catches light along the edges of the block, while the matt brushed brass on the plinth and stem softens reflections. The rectangular shade is sized to align with the proportions of the marble base, keeping the silhouette structured rather than top-heavy. The combination of stone and metal gives the lamp a grounded, architectural feel suited to contemporary, art deco-influenced and modern classic interiors.

What bulb does the Caviron take?

The lamp uses a single E27 (Edison screw) bulb, sold separately. Most users pair this with a warm-white LED between 6-10W and 2700K-3000K for ambient sideboard or bedside lighting. Check the maximum wattage on the lamp holder label before fitting a bulb.

Does the marble vary between pieces?

Yes. Each block is cut from natural marble, so the pattern of ivory veining, the depth of the black tone and the position of the markings differ between individual lamps. This is a feature of the natural stone, not a defect.

Is the lamp dimmable?

The Caviron itself does not include an integrated dimmer. Dimmability depends on the bulb fitted and the dimmer switch or inline dimmer used. Pair a dimmable LED E27 bulb with a compatible trailing-edge dimmer for variable output.

How is the marble cleaned?

Wipe the polished marble with a dry, soft microfibre cloth. For more stubborn marks a barely-damp cloth with distilled water is acceptable, but avoid soaking the stone and do not use household sprays, acidic cleaners or polish, as these can dull or etch the polished surface.
