The Castrovido is a bathroom wall light that pairs a pebble-shaped chrome backplate with a white globe shade, held on a short chrome holder. The body is steel with a bright chrome finish. The shade is matt opal glass, which spreads light softly and evenly. It measures 23.5cm in length, 21.5cm in width and 15.5cm in height. The light source is a G9 bulb at 4.2W, giving 320lm. With an IP44 rating it is protected from splashing water, so it can sit on a bathroom wall where an ordinary indoor light could not.

We find it works best beside a bathroom mirror. A pair, one on either side of the glass, gives even light across the face for shaving, make-up and the everyday routine. The rounded backplate catches the glow and reflects it onto the wall, while the globe keeps the light gentle rather than harsh. Chrome sits comfortably with chrome taps and towel rails, so it ties in with most bathrooms. It suits en-suites, family bathrooms and cloakrooms alike.
