Description

The Castelpoto is an LED floor lamp with a slim black steel stem, a split ring head in brushed brass and a round brushed brass base. It stands 180cm tall, the ring is 40cm across and the base 28cm across, so it takes very little floor space while still lifting the light well above a seated head. Two integrated LED lights shine through white plastic diffusers set into the ring, each rated at 8.8W and each giving 1,000 lumens of warm white light at 3000K. It is rated IP20, which settles where it belongs: indoors and dry, so a living room, bedroom or study, never a bathroom or anywhere outdoors.

Because the stem is so narrow, this floor lamp suits the tight spots where a wider lamp would not fit: the gap beside a sofa, the corner by a reading chair, the end of a run of shelves. The ring sends its glow onto the wall behind as well as into the room, so turned down it gives a gentle background light for the evening, and turned up it lights a corner properly. Brushed brass and black sit happily with dark metal shelving, pale upholstery and wooden floors, and the open ring gives a room a sculptural shape without crowding it.

The body is steel, with brushed brass on the ring and base and black along the stem. A touch dimmer sits partway up the stem, with marked controls for power and for raising and lowering the brightness, so you can set the level you want with a light touch rather than hunting for a switch at floor level. The integrated LEDs mean there are no bulbs to buy or change. The installation instructions are available as a download, and the packed weight is 3.1KG.
