Description

The Castelpoto 1 is a slim LED floor lamp in black, standing 180cm tall on a round base with a 30cm diameter. At the top of the pole sit two open rings at slightly different heights, each with a white plastic shade, so the light comes from the rings themselves rather than from a separate bulb. The light source is integrated LED, drawing 16W and giving 1,850lm, which is enough to light a reading corner or a study properly. It is rated IP20, and that settles where it belongs: indoors, in dry rooms only.

It suits a living room, standing beside a sofa or an armchair, and it works just as well beside a desk in a home office or study. At 43cm long and 30cm wide, it needs very little floor space, so it fits a corner that a ceiling light leaves dim. The colour temperature range runs from 2700K to 6500K, from warm light through to cool daylight, so the same lamp can give a soft light for an evening with a book and a crisper light for a working day. It is dimmable too, so you set the brightness to suit the hour instead of living with one fixed level.

The body and pole are steel in a black finish, set off by the white plastic shades in the rings. The touch dimmer sits on the pole itself, so changing the brightness is a light tap rather than a search along the cable for a switch. It runs from mains power at 220-240V, 50/60Hz, and needs only a socket nearby, with no wiring involved. Its packed weight is 3.883KG, and the installation instructions come as a download, so setting it up is straightforward from the very first evening.
