This musical trinket box takes the shape of a carousel horse prancing on a twisted gold-coloured pole above a small round drum. The horse is white, with a dark brown mane and tail, a pale blue saddle and a gold-coloured harness and bridle, and each hoof is picked out in gold. The drum it stands on is the box itself, decorated in cream and pale blue triangles divided by fine gold lines. Small clear stones are set along the bands and in a ring around the foot of the pole. It is made of metal with a glazed finish and stands 9.7cm tall, 5cm wide and 5.1cm deep.

Because it is a musical box and a trinket box in one, it is at home on a dressing table, a bedside table or a bedroom shelf.
