Description

The Carabel is a 324mm-wide wall light built around a cylindrical metal frame pierced with a scrollwork pattern, finished in brushed champagne with an aged patina. Two E14 bulb holders sit behind ivory linen drum shades inside the frame, with etched glass diffusers below each bulb. The pierced metalwork allows light to escape through the scroll cutouts, casting shadow patterns onto the wall behind.

Designed for hallways, landings, living rooms and bedrooms where decorative ambient light is needed rather than task lighting, the Carabel projects 159mm from the wall and fits standard UK wall light back plates. The 273mm fitting height makes it compact enough for narrower wall sections between doorways or flanking a mirror, while the twin bulbs provide enough output for general room lighting when paired with other sources.

The brushed champagne finish sits between gold and silver tones, giving a warm metallic accent that works with both warm wood interiors and cooler grey palettes. The aged patina in the recesses of the scrollwork adds depth to the metal surface rather than presenting as a uniform flat finish. The fitting takes two E14 (small Edison screw) bulbs up to 40W each. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with warm-white LED candle bulbs between 4-6W and 2700K for a soft ambient glow that complements the ivory linen shades.

Is the Carabel dimmable?

Dimmer compatibility depends on the bulbs used. LED E14 bulbs marked as 'dimmable' will work with most trailing-edge dimmers. Non-dimmable LED bulbs cannot be dimmed and may flicker or fail if connected to a dimmer circuit.
