Description

This capybara stacking mug is made from glazed earthenware in a warm caramel brown, and it builds a whole capybara from top to toe. The top mug is the head, with little pointed ears rising from the rim, dark dot eyes, soft pink blushes on the cheeks and a raised, darker brown muzzle with a simple drawn nose and mouth. The lower mug is the body, round and contented, with small front paws moulded in relief and stubby feet at the base. Sit the head on the body and they line up into one cheerful character standing 17.6cm tall, 12.3cm wide and 14cm deep.

Kept stacked, it is a friendly sight on a kitchen shelf, a dresser or a desk, and it takes up no more room than a single mug. Lift the head away and both halves become everyday mugs for tea, coffee or hot chocolate, one with the face and one with the paws, so it suits a slow breakfast shared at the table as well as a quiet cup on your own. It is the kind of piece that raises a smile each morning, and it makes an easy gift to choose for anyone fond of these gentle, unhurried animals.

Both mugs carry a high gloss glaze on the outside with a cream glaze inside, and each has a rounded loop handle that sits comfortably in the hand. As with any glazed earthenware, we suggest washing by hand in warm, soapy water and drying with a soft cloth, and stacking the mugs only once they are empty and dry. Between brews, leave the stack out on the side, or wrap it with a favourite tea or hot chocolate for a gift that is ready to use from the very first cup.

Frequently Asked

How big is the capybara mug stack?

Stacked together, it stands 17.6cm tall, 12.3cm wide and 14cm deep, so it sits comfortably on most kitchen shelves and dressers.

What is the capybara mug made from?

It is made from earthenware, a type of ceramic, finished in a glossy caramel brown glaze with a cream glaze on the inside.

Yes. Lift the head mug off the body mug and each works as an ordinary mug with its own handle for tea, coffee or hot chocolate.

How do I look after the capybara mugs?

We suggest washing by hand in warm, soapy water and drying with a soft cloth, which is good practice for any glazed earthenware.
