Description

The Capitol Hill is a 6-light chandelier built around a circular brushed nickel frame measuring 730mm in diameter, with six upward-facing arms each terminating in an E14 candle bulb fitting. The arms extend from a central column on curved metal loops that give the fitting an open, rounded profile, allowing light from the six bulbs to spread upward and outward without obstruction.

Designed for dining rooms, living rooms and entrance halls with ceiling heights of 2.4m or above, the chandelier suits both traditional interiors and contemporary spaces seeking a mid-century or transitional accent. The drop is adjustable between 658mm and 1922mm on installation using the 1219mm chain provided, allowing the fitting to be positioned 700-900mm above a dining table or set higher in a double-height hallway. The circular canopy fits standard UK ceiling roses.

The brushed nickel finish has a soft metallic sheen that sits between polished chrome and satin steel, pairing comfortably with grey, taupe, navy and cool-white colour schemes. The metal construction gives the chandelier a 3.2kg weight that anchors it visibly in larger rooms without requiring reinforced ceiling fixings for standard plasterboard. Each of the six arms accepts an E14 bulb up to 40W (sold separately), giving control over light temperature and brightness through bulb choice.

Frequently Asked

What bulbs does the Capitol Hill take?

The chandelier takes six E14 (small Edison screw) candle bulbs up to 40W each. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with warm-white LED candle bulbs between 4-6W and 2700K for traditional dining room lighting.

What ceiling height is needed?

The adjustable drop ranges from 658mm to 1922mm. For positioning above a dining table the fitting typically hangs 700-900mm above the surface, which works in rooms with ceiling heights of 2.4m or above. Higher ceilings can accommodate a longer drop for grand entrance halls or double-height spaces.

Is the chandelier dimmable?

Dimming depends on the bulbs fitted. If you install dimmable E14 LED bulbs and pair them with a compatible LED dimmer switch, the chandelier can be dimmed. Standard non-dimmable bulbs will not respond to a dimmer.

Does the brushed nickel finish tarnish?

Brushed nickel is a plated metal finish that resists tarnishing under normal indoor conditions. Occasional dusting with a dry microfibre cloth maintains the finish. Avoid spraying household cleaners directly onto the metal.
