Canto Rectangle 1 Light Pendant Light - Polished Nickel

The Canto is a 180mm x 110mm rectangular pendant light built around a polished nickel metal frame with clear acrylic side panels. A single E27 bulb (sold separately) sits inside the frame, visible through the transparent panels, with light diffused outward through the acrylic and downward through the open base. The polished nickel finish on the frame and ceiling canopy gives a mirror-like metallic surface that reflects surrounding light.

Designed for kitchens, hallways, and dining areas where a compact pendant is needed without overwhelming the space, the Canto's 180mm length suits narrow ceiling areas above kitchen islands, hallway runs, and side tables. The 380mm minimum drop allows it to be fitted in rooms with ceiling heights of 2.4m or above, while the 1320mm maximum drop accommodates higher ceilings or positions where the pendant needs to sit lower over a surface. The rectangular profile works singly or in multiples spaced along a run.

The clear acrylic panels are rigid polycarbonate sheets set into the nickel frame, creating a box structure that protects the bulb while allowing visibility of the filament or LED inside. The open base ensures downward light throw for task purposes, while the side panels diffuse light horizontally for ambient fill. The 0.75kg weight sits comfortably on standard ceiling roses without additional support. The polished nickel pairs with both warm and cool interior palettes and shows fingerprints less readily than polished chrome.

What bulb does it take?

The Canto takes a standard E27 (Edison screw) bulb up to 60W. Bulbs are sold separately. Most buyers pair this with a warm-white LED filament bulb between 4-8W and 2700K for ambient lighting, or a vintage-style squirrel-cage filament for decorative effect.

Is it dimmable?

Yes, provided you use a dimmable E27 bulb and pair it with a compatible dimmer switch. Not all LED bulbs are dimmable, so check the bulb packaging before purchase.

Can it be fitted in a bathroom?

The Canto carries no IP rating and is designed for dry internal use only. It is not suitable for bathrooms or outdoor areas where moisture is present.

How is the drop adjusted?

The cable length is adjusted during installation by feeding more or less cable through the ceiling canopy. Once fitted, the drop is fixed unless re-wired. The 1320mm maximum allows considerable flexibility for different ceiling heights.
