A single E27 bulb fitting sits inside the 180mm x 110mm x 380mm frame, visible through the transparent panels. The acrylic diffuses light evenly across all four sides while the dark graphite framework casts linear shadows onto surrounding surfaces.

Designed for kitchen islands, dining tables and breakfast bars where a compact pendant is needed above a worktop or table surface, the Canto's 180mm length works in spaces that cannot accommodate wider multi-bulb pendants. The adjustable drop ranges from 380mm to 1320mm, allowing the pendant to be set 600-800mm above a surface depending on ceiling height. The lightweight 0.75kg construction suits standard UK ceiling roses without reinforcement.

The graphite finish is a low-sheen powder-coated metal that absorbs rather than reflects light, giving the frame a matt charcoal appearance that pairs with industrial, contemporary and monochrome interiors. The clear acrylic panels are thicker than glass sheet equivalents at similar cost, providing impact resistance where the pendant might be knocked during cleaning or movement around the fitting. The pendant accepts any E27 LED, halogen or filament bulb up to 60W (sold separately), with dimmability depending on the bulb chosen.

What bulb does the Canto take?

The pendant takes a standard E27 (Edison screw) bulb up to 60W. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with a warm-white LED bulb between 6-10W and 2700K-3000K, or a vintage-style filament bulb where the visible bulb forms part of the design.

Is it dimmable?

Dimming depends on the bulb chosen. If you install a dimmable LED or halogen E27 bulb and pair it with a compatible dimmer switch, the pendant can be dimmed. Non-dimmable LED bulbs will not dim and may flicker or fail if used with a dimmer.

What drop height works above a kitchen island?

The pendant typically sits 600-800mm above a worktop or island surface. For a 900mm-high island and a 2.4m ceiling, set the drop to around 1000-1200mm. The maximum 1320mm drop suits higher ceilings or where the pendant needs to hang lower for task lighting.

Are the panels glass or acrylic?

The panels are clear acrylic, not glass. Acrylic is lighter, more impact-resistant and safer in kitchens where the pendant might be knocked. It does scratch more easily than glass, so clean with a soft cloth rather than abrasive materials.
