Canto Rectangle 1 Light Pendant - Graphite & Clear Acrylic

The Canto Rectangle is a 180mm square pendant light built from a graphite-finished metal frame with clear acrylic panels set into each of the four vertical faces. A single E27 bulb fitting sits centrally inside the frame, surrounded by the acrylic panels which diffuse light outwards while keeping the bulb visible. The matt graphite metalwork contrasts with the transparency of the acrylic, giving the fitting a defined geometric presence.

Designed for kitchen islands, dining tables and hallways, the Canto hangs from a black fabric-covered cable with a drop adjustable from 380mm to 1320mm on installation. The compact 180mm width suits spaces where a larger pendant would overwhelm the proportions, such as narrow hallways or small breakfast bars. The open frame allows light to escape in all directions rather than being directed downwards, so the fitting provides ambient rather than focused task light.

The graphite finish is a mid-grey metallic tone with a low sheen that softens reflections and pairs comfortably with industrial-style interiors, black steel frames, concrete, and exposed brick. The clear acrylic panels are 3mm thick and provide structural rigidity to the frame while diffusing the light source enough to reduce glare without obscuring the bulb completely. The fitting weighs 1.2kg and requires a ceiling fixing capable of supporting pendant loads.

What bulb does it take?

The Canto takes a standard E27 (Edison screw) bulb up to 60W, sold separately. Most users pair this with a warm-white LED filament bulb at 6-8W and 2700K-3000K to complement the industrial aesthetic and show the bulb through the clear acrylic panels.

Is it dimmable?

Yes, provided you use a dimmable E27 bulb and pair it with a compatible dimmer switch. The fitting itself has no electronic components that would prevent dimming.

What drop height suits a dining table?

For a dining table, the pendant typically hangs 700-800mm above the table surface. With the adjustable cable range of 380-1320mm, the Canto works in rooms with ceiling heights from 2.4m upwards. Adjust the cable during installation to suit your specific ceiling height and table position.

Can multiple Canto pendants be grouped together?

Yes. The 180mm width allows two or three Canto pendants to be spaced 300-400mm apart along a kitchen island or long dining table without visual crowding. Stagger the drop heights slightly for a more dynamic arrangement.
