Description

This candy cane photo frame wraps a favourite picture in a twist of pink and white stripes, topped with a plump bow. Made from resin, the border is shaped as a deep, rounded rope of alternating soft pink and white, so it reads like a striped sweet from across the room, while the bow carries touches of gold along its loops that catch the light. It holds a 7 x 5in photograph upright in portrait, and the frame itself measures 23.8cm tall, 16.5cm wide and 4.3cm deep, a size that gives the picture a generous border without crowding a shelf.

We like it on a bedside table, a dressing table or a bookshelf, and the gentle pastel colours sit well beside white, cream and pale wood. In a bedroom or a sunny hallway it brings a sweet, playful note, and the twisted border has enough depth to look sculpted rather than flat. A bright snapshot of family, friends or a favourite day looks cheerful inside the pink and white twist, and black and white prints stand out crisply against the soft colours. It also makes a lovely gift for anyone who enjoys pastel shades and a little whimsy around the home.

The stripes and the bow are raised in relief across the resin, giving the frame a soft, rounded look from the front and the sides. The gold on the bow is a small accent rather than an all-over shine, which keeps the whole piece gentle. For care, dust it with a soft dry cloth and, when needed, wipe it with a cloth that is barely damp, then dry it straight away; harsh cleaners and abrasive pads are best avoided, as they could dull the colours. Slip a favourite photograph inside before you wrap it and the gift is ready to give, or set it beside other pastel pieces on a shelf for a soft, sweet corner.
